Salt and Pepper Squid

oil for frying
Preparation
- Mix the flour, cornflour, salt, pepper and 5 spice powder. Lightly whisk in the water to make a slightly lumpy batter.
- In a frypan heat the oil. Before frying add the squid rings to the batter and stir to coat.
- Remove excess batter and drop the rings gently into the hot oil. Fry over high temp until golden brown (approx 2 mins)
- Drain on a paper towel. Serve with lemon wedges
